What Biblical authority gives any sinful or mortal human being (priest/bishop/pope) the authority to forgive an actual sin? The Bible teaches that only God can forgive sin. The notion of man doing so places him in the place of God....which defined by the Bible is blasphemy.
Of course in this case there is no Biblical authority for Lent so there is no sin anway.
On a side note, the term antichrist is literally defined - in place of Christ/God.
