Default Anyone Got an Ipod Video?

I am wanting to get one this weekend, I have a question about getting the videos off of limewire to play on the Ipod....

...I am able to get the videos into Itunes, does that mean that they will be accepted into the Ipod?

You have to convert the video to the correct format. You can normally get a free trial for like 30 days but after that you gotta pay. I forget what type of video the Ipod Video requires since ive only played around with my friends. I'll ask him later tonight.

alright thanks man, well my friend had some videos in itunes, that he was trying to put onto the ipod, and they were Quicktime Movie Files. and, well they wouldng go onto the ipod. I found a free program that converts files to Mpeg4, i am assuming thats the right format? but the program is weird because when i go to select the files i want to convert, it doesnt show all of my movies in my folders, it only shows about half of them.

no, well the ipod will take anything you put in it, but it will only play videos that are properly formated as was mentioned.

do a search for a program called 3GP converter, find a place that lets you download it free. Install it and enjoy it.. it took me weeks to find one for my Ipod that didnt have a limitation of eiter percentage or time trials... 3GP is completely free. also it is simple to use. run the setup, choose english and ipod. set the fold you want it dumped to then drag&drop files into the program, sit back and wait a few... then watch the movies

I have converted a few DVD's to Ipod format then loaded them on..

Hope this helps let me know when you have the video conversion process down or if you have any other questions.

Mp4, 320x240 resolution 128 bit mp3 encoded audio. or.. when using the program i menioned, you just choose how many KBPS you want the video.. and go from there. if you are using it on only the ipod you can not tell a difference in between the video qualities, if you are using the ipod to display video on a TV as i do on occasion you may want to use something higher..

384 is what i usually use for ipod only..
768 is better for TV viewing but is still slightly grainy.. above that it is as good as regular TV

remember if the source of the video is crap then the out put will not be better if the input is dvd or another good quality video the output is good..

oh and another note when looking for the GP Converter, try and find it in version 032, it seems to work slightly better then the previous versions. it is called GP_Converter032 and is about 3 meg in size.

also keep in mind that you download programs through limewire. but be carefull doing it this way. it's real to put a virus in a program. avoid dling .exe files. i'm working same issue with little brother's ipod video.

Good to see that there's actually a free one out there, lol. I did one vid on mine with the free trial thing and got the damn watermark on the middle of the screen. Def. going to check this one out.

not only is it a free one its a free one the work! you dont even have to click anything just drag and drop, works wonderfully. i used the same one the cucu thing that put a nice watermark in the center of the screen... that sucked.
