I don't know. Sounds like a lot of double talk to me. Sorry.

We are not snipers here, especially under fire on the street. If you spend too much time trying to get that magical "spine" shot, you may just find yourself just as dead as the author thinks everyone will be. I also find it hard to believe that there are as many "multiple" center mass shots where the receiver just walks away as he is eluding to. Notice he gave no direct examples, only "stories". I'm sorry but I don't hold much weight to that. We've all heard fish stories. Gun fight stories are likely no different. Besides, an attacker rithing on the ground gurgling his own blood is far may be technically not 100% stopped, but by God he aint fighting any more. Besides, once the attacker is down there is a large likelihood you have time and opportunity to separate yourself out of the fight and into safety anyway. I have read a million documented stories where it was the complete opposite of this "crazed PCP enduced super human-like" attacker scenario. 99% of the attackers out there expect you to be an easy target, ie. unarmed, otherwise they move to easier targets which unfortunately are readily available likely right next to you. Therefore, when someone fires back at them, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority turn and burn like the cowards they are in the first place.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that some attacker was hit with 00 buck at any reasonable distance and he didn't go down. I don't buy it, unless they are Al Pacino and doped up on a mountain of coke or PCP. Just doesn't happen. I also find it hard to believe considering basic human physiology and physics. Even temporary wound cavities "short circuit" the body no matter who you are. Barring you being Superman's long lost brother, rapid loss of blood.....shock.....internal organ disruption.....and general human physiology says that if you're pouring out large amounts of blood, which WILL happen even when you're winged, your body will quickly go into shut down mode. The body only holds a finite amount of blood. Start there. People faint when they donate a pint of blood under calm and controlled circumstances all the time. You're gonna tell me that during a fire fight when adrenaline is flowing 100x's normal rate and heart is racing that a human is some how gonna bleed LESS and the brain will require LESS blood to function? Ummm, I'm not buying that at all. Sorry.

Finally, the author calls the sniper like spine shot as the prefered shot placement. Fine. Just HOW is that bullet gonna reach the spine if NOT BY a center mass torso shot? Same for the second choice, according to him, lung shots. We're not shooting them in the back, right? So you will have to shoot your attacker likely at a frontal or lateral shot, right? Just how does a foreign object like a bullet which travels only in straight lines reach that pinnacle spine if NOT THRU the torso? Sorry, but this guy is double talking just to be a contrarian IMO. He may be right that weird and unpredictable things happen during a gun fight. I just don't buy this idea that you have to shoot EVERYBODY 5-6 times in order to neutralize the threat. Just not real life IMO. I have read lots of books written by real LEO's who were involved and/or researched and documented ACTUAL street fire fights which negate what this guy is alleging. I tend to believe them more because it makes more common sense than this guy. Sorry.

I'll stick to my double tap to the chest and if you keep coming double tap IN THE CHEST again.
