Just scanning over the higher points of this thread. I went to church a lot when I was a child and as an adult I still go, not every Sunday but as time permits. As an adult, I am faced with different situations than I was as a child. I work for a living, am in a married relationship and have other adult things to deal with. I wasnt worried about those things when I was a child, just Thou shall not steal, etc, Now, the Bible gives me new perspective for the issues I deal with now. When I start going through some tough times, I can usually find some enlightenment in the Bible. So to answer the original question. you will never hear it all, there is always something fresh there.

Not brainwashed here and not looking for something, because I have already found it. My life cuts it jsut fine and I am happy to be living it.

Everyone is called to ministry, so there is no difference. Just as the vine branches are a part of the vine as a whole... "apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5

An analogy is football. The mission is to score and win, though everyone has different roles they play, the mission remains the same. So too is our calling to ministry.

Don't think of it as being different, for the calling that you've received is true but to think that it is separate from what pastors, teachers and healers are doing, is wrong and a lie.

Because ultimately what? 1 Corinthians 6:11, 19-20. You are the body of Christ, You are anointed through the work and blood of Jesus and You are sanctified and justified by Him. Don't confuse your vocation being different from your ministry, but rather your vocation being a part of your ministry. For all are called to ministry.

We're both agreeing on the same thing... I'm just trying to make it clear no one is actually a higher status from the other as anyone is a healer or teacher, and no one is chosen over the other to be pastors and ministers or popes... because ALL that call Jesus as Lord have been chosen and that they strive to be like the one who sanctified them, Jesus Christ. And as He used his vocation as a part of his ministry, so should you strive to live as He did, the great example of our existence.

i agree with you. just saying, there are differences between an annointed man of God giving a message the Lord has and a " motivational speaker " preaching feel good messages

I got to church at least 3 times a week and enjoy daily conversations with the man upstairs. I just hope i can maintain this trend as i get older.

teglover101 thats cool to hear bro. i hope the same thing for you. it all depends on how committed to God you can remain through all the false teachings and all the temptations this world has to offer. like the bible says, we have to crucify our flesh daily

If I have my choice I will be crucifying my flesh in a mound of female anatomy (premarital) preferably...and sanctifying my spirit with holy water poured from a Vodka bottle. And not feeling the slight bit guilty about wallowing in "sin". I think about these sins daily, if not every minute and the emotions they bring ALWAYS make me happy.

If I give thanks for anything, it's for not allowing myself to be burdened by the primitive morality of a made up prophet in a foreign desert whose teachings just read as common sense but whose pristine ideology and dogma are as irrelevant as giving thanks to Zeus for nice weather.

It is an amazing feeling to not be burdened by the entire idea of sin or ANY religious dogma, its like shedding a heavy coat of armor so you can finally swim and experience this life for everything it has to offer.
