    Yes. There was Pepsi back then. Here goes the story:

    Back in 1273, a man named Sir Peter Parker Simmons was in a room just outside his house mixing up some stuff to use to help kill fireants. He was trying distilled waters, beers, and any other form of liquid he could get his hands on. After he found a combination that was useful to destroying fireant colonies, he kept mixing up other stuff to see what else he could find. He came across a combination so sweet smelling, that he could not help but to give it a taste. After one taste, he was hooked on the idea of trying to get others to try it. He needed a name for his new beverage and decided to use his own.

    PEPSI = PEter Parker SImmons.

    Later, QD.

    Brad's drink", created in the summer of 1893, was later renamed Pepsi Cola in 1898 after the pepsin and cola nuts used in the recipe. In 1898, Caleb Bradham wisely bought the trade name "Pep Cola" for $100 from a competitor from Newark, New Jersey that had gone broke

    so no pepsi
