    Default Need advice on RAM

    Ok, I've decided I need to get some more memory, so I need yalls help/advice. http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...tinum&class=mb
    That is the motherboard I have, and i currently have 2 sticks of 512mb.. I'm not sure what exactly is in there right now... but it's 1024mb total. Now I'm trying to figure out what should i order? all these numbers are confusing me, pc3200, pc4000, pc4400, etc. and i've heard it's better to have 2 sticks of 512 than 1 1gb stick right? Please let me know what you'd suggest I get.

    Get (2) 512mb sticks of PC3200. Your mobo is dual channel which means you have to run 2 sticks of the same RAM. PC3200 is the highest speed of RAM your mobo will take. Also consider the speed of your RAM that is already in your comp. If you have PC2700 already in there, then if you put PC3200 in there it will only run at the same speed as the PC2700 that you alredy have.

    You will have to look on the memory stick itself. It will have the speed written in Mhz

    266Mhz= PC2100
    333Mhz = PC2700
    400Mhz = PC3200
