I think Danny mentioned it and it seems like a good idea. Somebody was asking about ammo for target practice and instead of cluttering up the other thread, I figured I'd take a stab.
For target practice and if you're not reloading Wal Mart ammo is just fine. (Whichester White Box "WWB" or Blazer) Will work. If reloading make sure it's brass though.
In other news, I just went to the range and put another 150 rounds through my P250. No issues at all so far. Love this gun.

here's my Mauser 8mm. unfortunately it's an M48, not a K98. shoots fucking great. I love this gun.
We're discussing all the aspects of them. Nice Mauser man. I really like it. I've been wanting one but can't "pull the trigger" quite yet.
By the way, that's about 500 rounds through the P250 now.
i am becoming a HUGE fan of Georgia Arms ammo. Its affordable and really pretty decent stuff. GAARMS is factory reloads, FMJ with brass (reloadable) cases. So you cant go wrong... Plus it comes in 500 round ammo cans (weather/time resistant). All for less or equal to wolf ammunition. I have also been known to shoot wolf also (new type).
My experience with GA Arms is good. During one course last year i fired about 800 rounds of the stuff over 3 long, hot, sweaty and dirty days with no ammo related issues. I plan on purchasing a few thousand rounds this weekend for upcoming training.
If anyone wants to head out to ga=arms this weekend hollar, split gas money with ya haha.

Ga arms is good from my experience. I've only tried the 7.62 x 39 but it worked flawlessly and with good results. Nice people too.
forgot to mention WWB and blazer. Through my experience blazer brass sucks. Its ok for a last minute grab, and if u have a stock pile of it by no means sell it. But i found the length varation to be wayyy to large. Matter of fact i have 5 .45acp blazer brass rounds sitting on my desk right in front of me, all of which are way longer/shorter than average (visually). I remember pulling them all out of the same 50rd box because i was having feeding issues in an old 1911 i used to have.
WWB is awesome, and from what i hear its on par with Ga-arms ammo. So if ur stock piling it, rock on!
Defensive ammo:
- I carry Hornaday TAP +P loads in all my guns. I have found it to be a good ammo. I plan on switching (but not throwing away my current small collection of TAP) to something else (to be determined) for tactical reasons only.

Very true. I mean just fine as in it works. The cases will be shorter and longer like you mentioned but you won't really notice it in a Glock or XD or Sig. In a gun where it needs to be pretty good (1911) you will for sure, Bangin Jimmy.
Defense, I carry Speer Gold dots. I love them.
I've got a Glock 23 and I was the one asking about rounds. I really dont know more than what I have read, but I do know that I have about 800 rounds through my glock and I love it. Recoil is very managable for quicker firing. Pretty good groups even though I dont consider myself any more than an average shot. Not a single feed problem. I even went through about 400 rounds over a 2 day period without cleaning in between just to see how it would react and I had zero issues.

glad to hear it. you should be able to run several days in the elements and at least a 1000 rounds without running into problems from being dirty.
Just a tip, just becuase your gun runs flawlessly at the range doesnt mean you should practice malfunction drills alot
whats everyone think of federal HST, i am considering switching to this. Seems to be a great round. Also it has a silver or brass case, apposed to the black case that Hornaday tap has (the only drawback i have found of TAP)... so thats the main reason for the switch.

i lol'd. all i have is a remington 20 gauge. haven't brought myself to spend the ridiculous amt of money for a pistol. plus i really don't know much about guns in general... to be honest i just want a pistol for know reason. certainly don't have a need for it lol.

I played with an H&K USP .45 today and I loved it. Expensive, but a very nice pistol.

And i never really found out why, but one course i took last year the instructor (and the high level students) all poo pood the USP and called it a "boat anchor". Instructor was randy cain, feel free to google him and see if you want to take his advice on the USP.
Its soo difficult to get good gun advice. You sure as hell cant read gun forums and make a decision from those, and u sure as hell cant read a magazine and make a decision from that. I have come to listen ONLY to those who know what they are doing (high end 1911 smiths and highend instructors. Sounds kinda snoty, but really its the only people who see guns in a harsh environment for a living. Just something for ur brain to chew on.

If I empty my pockets you see some loose change, my wallet, cell and my glock. I dont bother will all that other shit.
I know this already. That pistol just felt really nice in my hand. My only complaint would be the size of the trigger guard. It really was too big.
I'll try to post up a couple pics tomorrow morning, but I went shooting today and I realized I REALLY suck with my left hand. Even at 20ft I couldnt get a decent group to save my life.
USP's are quite heavy. Whatever fits you best is the best option. Danny has some good advice. I also noticed your Omega watch (Love those) SureFire flashlight, and spyder co. knife. Nice stuff. I'll get mine up soon.
I've shot a good bit of Georgia Arms stuff. I usually buy a few packs of several calibers to practice with. I tend to pick it up for about what gun stores have bottom shelf ammo for. They even carry hunting and ballistic loads. I picked up some 5.56 high end stuff that is sitting in one of my mags right now.
I tend not to make too many gun deals at gun shows anymore. Since the Obama thing, everybody has gone crazy selling their stuff for top dollar like it's going out of style. Ammo is still reasonable, but I've seen used guns going for twice what they should normally. AR's are the worst. Everybody tries to sell any of them for mega bucks.
Just to add to the discussion, I picked me up a nice Kimber last time I went to a show. Its my fav carry gun, although I like to switch from time to time what I carry. I still love my Glock 32 and my Smith 457 is easy to carry since it's so slim.
whatever works for you. Of course i adjust my carry gear for the occasion (casual, work, day, night, etc). But the bare minimum is the spyderco knife, cell wallet and keys
I love the knife, a person can become very effective with it with little training. Its amazing to see the difference a little bit of instruction can make with one. Its a whole different animal than a firearm.

great gun. i was considering getting one myself.
asfar as a laser... im not sure. but good and cheap rarely go together. i would look at the surefire and streamlight weapon lights if i was you. Both have laser options. A weapon light would be much more valuable than a laser.
just my .02, but i am a little biased. I dont like visible lasers in most applications.

I mainly shoot a Glock 17 and I love that gun! I rented an XDM 9mm and I'm glad I did, I would not buy that gun. It just doesn't feel right to me. I need to find a place to rent the Sig P250. If it works for me I'm buyin it! How do you like yours?

brass is what typically ammo cases are made out of. Some companies use a very soft steel, which is acceptable but is not reloadable due to the properties of steel and i believe the primers they use are not removable. I believe some companies use aluminum cases, these too are not reloadable to my knowledge.
Brass is by for the most desirable, it can be reused time and time again and is soft but strong (not harmful on the gun, but very safe).
