Italian Mastiffs are badass dogs. Those, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Huskies, and German Shepards are the best dogs on Earth imo. And of course my little Jack Russel lol.

i would like to have a English Mastiff too or really want a great Dane. only problem is the big dogs like those dont live long. and i dont think i could have a dog with such a short lifespan.

excatly as you said IMO..German shepards in america are oo small. I like ridgebacks and huskies are neat to look at.. A tibetan mastiff looks like a husky but triple the size.

Yea they're way bigger in Germany. My German teachers aunt has a Shep and a WOLF! Like a legitimate wolf. It's crazy, the wolf and the Shep are both huge. Ridgebacks are massive, but they are the most relaxed dogs I've ever seen if trained well. And Huskies are my all time favorite.

Mastiffs are one of the oldest breeds of dog on earth. I had an english mastiff that lived for 11 years. He was about 200lbs in his prime. A lot of people don't know how fast these big dogs can run. My parent's driveway is about 5/8 mile long, with a 1/4 mile strait. My dog would run behind me up the driveway, and could keep up with my car to around 35-40mph. He actually ran down a deer one time. He was a very lean mastiff. Another weird thing about my mastiff was that he hated birds. If he saw a buzzard or even just a shadow of a buzzard he would go crazy.

I wouldn't doubt it. My mastiff killed a 110lb pitbull once. When I was about 17 or so, my little brother and I were walking in the woods and walked up on the pitbull. The damn thing jumped on my brother (who was 12 years old and about 90lbs at the time). My mastiff jumped on the pitbull and clamped down on his throat. He killed the pitbull without being injured at all. Even the biggest pitbull can't hold up to a full grown mastiff. Mastiff's are very protective of their owners.

This is the female. Females never look good as the males. She is 85lbs now. The pic was taken last year and she is only 70lbs here.

Zeus was our favorite dog of all times. Being an English Mastiff he weighed in winter weight @ 227 his last living winter. He took up a rare liver disease and we had to have him put down after he dropped to 145 pounds. The Vet. told us that he was starting to suffer. That was one of the worst days of my life to be honest.

We were blessed and have one of his pup's here now that we named Spanky. He is coming up on a year old and weighs well over 100lbs. He doesn't appear to be growing as fast as his father but already very protective as his balls are starting to drop.

I would love to find a female Mastiff for Spanky and keep the breed going here on our land.

Here is Zeus with our son.
