I wouldn't doubt it. My mastiff killed a 110lb pitbull once. When I was about 17 or so, my little brother and I were walking in the woods and walked up on the pitbull. The damn thing jumped on my brother (who was 12 years old and about 90lbs at the time). My mastiff jumped on the pitbull and clamped down on his throat. He killed the pitbull without being injured at all. Even the biggest pitbull can't hold up to a full grown mastiff. Mastiff's are very protective of their owners.
