any HK will rape your whole family, no matter who you are. USP .45 Compact IS going to be my next gun purchase...well, either that or an FN Five-Seven.

    It's O-W-N.

Nice piece BTW. I've shot one before. I'm not too crazy about the hinge like grip, but it shoots nice. Anything HK will always shoot nice.

I was thinking about getting a Five-Seven. The more I thought about it, the less I wanted it though. It seems like a badass gun with 20rds in the clip and being able to shoot 200yrds, but the stopping power is minimal with the tiny bullets.

I don't really like any H&K pistols. The grips seem weird and they recoil to the side too much for me. I also don't like Beretta's. They are ok, but they also seem to recoil to the side. I have shot pretty much every popular pistol out there. I'm going to stick with 1911's.

I looked at the Five-seveN, but the bullets just don't weigh enough. If you shoot someone with it the bullets will go straight though, which actually does the least amount of damage. The gun itself also seems kinda crappy and plasticy.

If I was going to get anything other than another 1911, I would probably get a glock or XD. I have shot a few different models of both and they seem to be pretty reliable.

small bullets bounce around more and tend to make up for a bad shot. That's why the military uses a .223 round.

Any of you HK fans ever fire an older HK VP70? My father has one and I've always wanted to take it out to the range. Anybody know if you can get the shoulder stock for civilian use? It was made for the army version of the pistol and enables a 3-round burst capability, along with holding extra clips.

Actually, it was adopted for a number of other, not retarded reasons. The round is lighter so a soldier can carry a greater number of rounds. The muzzle velocity produced is higher so the round has a flatter trajectory within its effective range. The probability of a target being grievously wounded rather than killed is greater when compared to the 7.62x51mm round, in a battle a wounded enemy is actually better than a dead one (most military AP mines are designed to wound). Recoil is extremely moderate, especially in automatic fire.

As a side note, its the 5.56mm NATO round and not the .223 that the military uses. Yep, they're different.

The Five-seveN was designed for maximum penetration while still maintaining the low recoil and overall small size of a pistol round. That's why its ideal for shooting people in body armor. However, this means it is more or less useless for home defense as you're unlikely to encounter a home invader wearing ballistic kevlar and the effects of armor piercing ammunition are lesser than expanding type bullets on unarmored targets.

Thats kind of why I have decided against it. Its more of a novelty gun for me. It would be sweet to have it, but really no reason to need it.

Yep. And even in the incredibly unlikely event that your house would be invaded by someone wearing body armor, at the ranges home defense takes place at even an unaccomplished marksman can shoot someone in the face.

Unless he's like that guy from Lethal Weapon all covered in steel and a welding mask and **** with the flamethrower. Then you're ****ed.
