Just pull the (think it;s called) Tranny bellhousing. Under that is the clutch shoe. No need to yank the motor. You should've had little to no smoke at idle and part throttle, Lots of smoke at WOT. Blueish smoke. If it starts though and runs good I doubt you toasted the motor. But if it is cheap enough to fix. If only real motors were like that.
