What would you call our "non-democratic" form of government then?

Truth, which is why they should have no direct influence on the government.
Like it or not this country was originally based on Religion..If you believe in some kind of Religion or not is irrelevant..Religion gives basic morals, and values. If you have a problem with this country, and you don't like it, leave. I absolutely can't stand people who knock on this country and its flaws but use and abuse its benefits. The only reason you can run your cocksucker like you are is because of your rights this country gives you.

    End rant...

    +1 for those who vote!!

sry if I come off a little irritated, im sitting in my sociology class and just got into a big debate.

I agree 100% with that. Unfortunately, most do not.

"Run my cocksucker" is it? Well, now that wasn't very nice. I'll gladly let you know that I don't abuse anything in this country. I appreciate the priviledges I get, but I also use them responsibly. I have full capability of knocking this country and every one of it's flaws. Maybe if we keep pointing out the f*cked parts of this POS society we live in, then maybe something will change. I don't expect it to, but there's a better chance of that happening then peoples "votes" actually putting someone dignified in office. You are right about one thing though, if I don't like it then I can leave. You'll see that I'm doing just that.

You may have had some form of good standing, but referring to my post as "running my cocksucker" was uncalled for. As a prior serviceman, I'm well aware of the rights and priviledges that this country provides. However, at the same time, I am also aware that this country is promptly eating itself alive from the inside out and will destroy itself in due time. You can have fun in the fire if you want, but I'm outta here.

It's all good man. I hardly take anything on the net personally. I've been in the same discussions in my old sociology classes and they never ended well, if at all. All they do is put a bad taste in your mouth. If you have faith in the system and believe that it will save itself, then kudos to you. You've more faith than I do. It's just that I, personally, have simply had enough of watching this country diversify itself and fall apart. It's one of many reasons why I'm getting out of here.

Yeah, im sitting here listening to everyone *****...about Bush, why were in Iraq, etc...Im about to hang someone...

As far as the country falling apart, it definitly scares me. Im not saying its not going to, I just don't see it happening very soon. Then again ignorance is bliss. I honestly fear the day another civil war breaks out or some kind of wmd is detontated on US soil..Honestly, if Hilary Clinton becomes president, no lie im going to Austrailia. Those guys don't play. If you speak of terrorism or going against the gov't your booted out of the country. No questions.

you know I asked my dad if he would move to another country if things got bad here. he said no, because there really isnt any better place. hes right, there isn't. no other country in the world has the kind of freedoms we have here(as temporary as they may be). people say they would move to Canada and ****..... **** that would be the last place id move. for one their health care system is horrendous, and thats putting it lightly( socialized medicine does not work, anywhere). Secondly, Canada does not allow you to have your beloved weapons, and those I am not giving up.

so where would you go man, and why?

Lots of places have the same freedoms we do. As far as rights go, your choices of relocation spots are various if you're not picky. There are lots of better places out there, we're just so used to calling ourselves better that we instinctively look down upon other societies.

For now, I have a great fascination with Japan, Korea, and most of Eastern Asia. Of the three, I'd probably like to settle in Japan. A unique culture, not a bad social structure, and they share many of the same rights we do here. Of course, I'm probably a bit biased due to my fascination, but that's one of the reasons I'm going to walk around Japan and some of the rest of Asia for a bit. I've been to South Korea before and, while it was enjoyable, I wasn't as captivated with it as I was Japan.

I probably wouldn't be opposed to settling down somewhere in Europe either. But again, I've only been there briefly in the past and don't have much knowledge or experience with their culture.

Sometimes I think that I'm somewhat jaded by living here. We do have a lot of priviledges to enjoy, but having to listen to the social and political bullsh*t everyday grows tiring. Truth be told, I don't know where I'd like to go to settle down. Japan would be my first pick as of right now, but I'd like to see the rest of the world before making a decision. As of this message, I'd prefer to be just about anywhere except here right now.

...except maybe the middle east and other hot spots.
