I disagree. Something about the new camaro is strange.

maybe because they are replacing it with a new model in 08 and holden is discontinuing the platform its being made on?

i think they are replacing it and redesigning it cause it was a failure but we are all entitled to our own opinions

Camaro FTW, it lives up to the muscle car name. It may not look just lke the old 67-69 models but neither did any of the ones after that. Its a good throw back to the old design but it still holds modern styling. PLUS it has a bad ass Corvette drivetrain so you know its gonna be hella fast.

Because of the U.S. airbag standards of safty. They were raising the standards, and Pontiac didn't want to re-redesign the Goat, just to put in more air bags... That's just what I was told, though.

My POV on the new cars...

Mustang - Didn't like it when it first came out. Still pretty much don't like it in base model form but if you get the right package for it, they can be pretty sharp.

Charger - Four-door grocery-getter with a HEMI. It may not have been a bad car, but it sure as hell wasn't a Charger.

GTO - Grand Am with a V8. It's not even an original concept. It was a rebadged car from Australia and did nothing that resembled the old-school GTO.

Camaro - Nice spaceship, not a nice car.

Challenger - Probably the only "retro" car I would even consider aside from a well packaged Mustang. The Challenger sounds like it'll hold up to it's predecessor's legacy and the body design actually looks sharp. Probably the first "retro" car to really pay homage to the designs on old.

Prowler: 3.5L HO V6 from the Intrepid, 300M, and the Concord. Not an inline 6

Charger: Disappointment. No two door option and nothing different from a 300 except the skin. Chrysler went the cheap route (I don't blame them though) to bring out a "new" car with a new name to fill a niche that was already filled by the 300. All the customers that I ever spoke to at the dealership that I worked at either asked if there was any word on a two door model or said that if it were a two door model, they would by it on the spot.

GTO: As said previously, it was a rebadged car, a Holden (GM Australia) Monaro. Corvette drivetrain under an upscale chassis. Sorta built as a competitive alternative to the upper end of the BMW 5 series and similar MB cars. GMNA decided to bring it over, cut off it's balls and call it a GTO. Way to go cheap-asses!

    If you can't, don't! -GTO
If you can, do it! -Retro Camaro

Retro Camaro & Challenger: I love them both! Just as long as GM doesn't screw up the engine options in the Camaro because we all know that the challenger will, at the least, have the 426 Hemi option.

American Auto Makers: there are still quite a few people who enjoy two door, manual transmission cars.

i care what noone thinks, i sold my 97 cobra b/c my son refused to ride in it due to the noise level, so i bought the trailblazer for the room, put a dvd player in it for my son, and havent been happy since, hence the reason its for sell, i gotta get back into something sporty before i shoot myself (but thats the difference between me being slightly older, out of school, & married with a kid, and you traveling on weekends to fuck your boyfriend while your hamming it up on mommy and daddys college funds)

just grateful my son refused to ride in my car due to the noise level, life could be worse, he couldve refused to ride in my car b/c he was ashamed i drove a volvo and didnt want his friends seeing it
