I need to ask a few questions/opinion about my oral interview.

i've been to one when i was in high school... my parents had me go to one b/c i was too much to handle and thought i needed someone to talk to... it was basically an hour session of bitching out my mother, very helpful, she is still loco and can very much be the biggest bitch in the world

luckily i don't live at home

shit was expensive like 200$ and hour

ehh. i went to one. its basically a person who can jsut give good advice.

i mean. if yo ujust have a good friend to talk to and will listen. that will basically take care of whats gonna happen in a $200 session. just by them a waffel house dinner

I just want to ask them abt the MMPI2 to test that I have just taken and how shld I perform on my oral psy on monday.

I don't care if it's 200/hr as long as I get the job.

ha ha, I would never go to one of those after my psychology class in college. Every damn one of those psychology teachers were weird

(1 was cool though). But I don't need them telling me what to do.

It's not really a screw up.I just need a guidance from them, since I'll be having an Psy oral interview for my job next wk.If some y'all remember, I posted once abt screwing up my interview.

Why are you so concerned with the MMPI2? Did you feel like you did not disclose everything? Worried you weren't honest? What job are you applying for, if it's not too personal?

I'm not worried abt the MMPI2.I'm worried on how to talk and answer since english is not my native language. I disclose everything that were asked. And for honesty, I passed the polygraph so that at least mean something abt my honesty.

I'm applying for firefighter position.

Btw how do u know abt the MMPI2??

It's a personality test..lol. A lot of jobs, where social and personal maladjustment can play an issue needs to be evaluated. Such as public safety positions, CEOs, MD's, and etc. I know about the MMPI-2 is b/c I took one for the GRAD program I am in right now. Also, my brother took it for the FBI pre-req's. He graduated with a Psych. degree. All a psychologist is going to tell you is to be honest and answer the best you can. They can't really help you with how to answer during the interview. Go online and look for possible questions they may ask and practice with someone. I'm sure they will understand that there may be a language barrier. But again most cities are looking for diversity in public safety positions so being bi-lingual is plus.

Cool! Good luck man, if you don't get it just keep applying. If you keep coming back it will show persistence, and they will realize you must really want to be a firefighter. Some people do it for the wrong reasons, and don't last long. You have to be driven with the desire to save/help people. They are also looking for people that get along well with others since you will be spending 24hrs at a time w/ fellow firefighters. They want to make sure everyone at the station is like family.

Thanks for the encouragement.I have two more step to go and these past few days have been a living hell since I'm really worried. Medical/drug screening today and the interview on monday.

I wish I could have been really careful when I drive. Due to my driving records, I wasn't able to get a job offer from the pv company which rely heavily on insurance.

I've tried that but I can't find any of it. I find alot for the preleminary background interview though but not the psy interview. Tried the MMPI-2 website, but it's so complicated.....
