What's wrong with that? BMWs have it mounted on the floor for years, and actually, my Datsun 510 has it mounted on the floor. I dunno why it would be a big deal. I highly doubt that. These may be "samples" but they are not preproduction cars. Those usually don't have a vin at all.
Oh, and I think we are getting the new coupe in either December or January. When it shows up I'll snag pics of that too.

BMW and Mercedes ships in ENCLOSED trailers and each car is under a cover.... I thought all "luxury" manufacturers would do this?

And before they are put in the trailer they are perfectly washed and detailed by the manufacturer and the covers that are put on them perfectly clean and sealed to the whole car, then the inside of the trailer is cleaned and detailed before the cars are rolled in? I mean, if you are suprised that such a "luxury" vehicle would need to be washed after it's delivered then these uber german models must show up PERFECTLY clean, and that is the only way that would happen.

I talked to a guy who bought a new 330ci because, more than anything, the G35 dind't handle nearly as well, or stop anywhere near as well as the BMW. Kinda tells ya somethin there I think.
Lexus has been the best selling luxury brand in America the past 6 years going on 7. The IS 350 is the fastest car in class until the 335 sedan with turbos debuted. The GS 400 was the fastest automatic sedan in the world until an AMG E55 came out.
Lexus is the 4th best selling luxury brand in the world behind BMW/Audi/Benz.
Infiniti and Acura have had much less success so you can't really bunch all Japanese luxury brands together.
Lexus has the worlds first luxury hybrids in the RX 400h, GS 450h and 2007 LS 600h.

And I have less than $2k into it. I'm not afraid to admit it. I drive a new Jeep Compass, albiet fairly against the grain for a Jeep, but still a suburban grocery getter none the less for a daily. Some of the newer BMW's, no I'd enver consider owning, due to the rediculous maintenence costs on some of teh newer cars, and the non-ability to do maintenence on some of the newer cars, such as the M5, which now has no engine dipstick, requires the BMW factory dealer scantool to check the engine oil level during an oil change. I'm not saying every BMW is the greatest thign ever. But the competition sure does leave alot to be desired.
A Lexus, yeah, I'd consider them a luxury brand, and I enjoy the feel of a Lexus, I've driven a couple of the newer ones. And I'll even go as far as admitting you do get a good bang/buck wiht most Lexus. Not all, but most. But they still don't compare with a comparable BMW. Price might be a lil steeper on a comparable Bimmer, sometimes not. All depends. Although, I said nothing about washing the cars. I agree with DinanM3ATL on that fact, but that points moot.
