I personally usually spend extra and buy them local at the store for two reasons. If I dont like the lens I can return in 30 days and Im impatient and like to get my stuff quick with no waiting.
Ebay is always a good place to pick up stuff, but dont expect having a warranty with anything you buy on there. Most sellers on there are not authorized sellers or dealers and sell gray market goods.
BH Photo is also a great place to get stuff at a good price.
