Another funny note- everyone goes by the rankings- look at them. All they are is votes from certain individuals- they really mean absolutely nothing. I mean Marshall Faulk, if i remember exactly won the heismann with an unranked team. They dominated that year and remained unranked. How can a team with a loss really be rated higher than teams with no losses? Also when was the last time an SEC team was actually ranked #1 and/or won a national championship and was actually praised in the media- don't say Auburn or LSU because they were pushed aside. Auburn had to "share" the championship with USC but USC got all the publicity and their schedule was not nearly as tough as Auburns that year. LSU got 15 minutes of fame and then no one even talked about them. I think the whole rankings is overrated and just another way for the schools and stations to rake in more money. When was the last time you say a smaller school with a tough schedule that did well get a good ranking- never because of the way they rank them and vote. Another example- look at all the different rankings- none of them are ever the same- all of them will usually be different with the exception of #1 and 2.
