    Default NEED HELP FOR COMPUTER SCI CLASS

    ok i used a program that will let you only use numbers that are 1 byte (in teh binary system)

    what is that in the decimal?

    What is the largest number you can add? Record your answer in both binary and decimal values.


    the binary value is 1-byte so whats the decimal value?

    1=1
    2=10
    3=11
    4=100
    5=101
    6=110
    7=111
    8=1000
    9=1001

    So on and so forth...

    1+base 1= 2
    2+ base 1= 3
    3+ base 1= 4

    and so on....

    but back to finding the decimal equiv. Just as .23 means 2/10 + 3/100, so when you can express a number less than 1 in base 5, say the number .342 (base 5), you mean 3/5 + 4/25 + 2/125. If you let .23 = a/5 + b/25 + c/125 then multiplying both sides by 5...


    Converting to unary is easy just follow this guide

    1 = |
    2 = ||
    3 = |||
    4 = ||||
    5 = |||||
    6 = ||||||
    7 = |||||||
    8 = ||||||||
    9 = |||||||||
