Under 16" isn't illegal, but you would need to get a Class III weapon (and pay the hefty price) in order to do so. The way that Bushmaster got around that is I have a 14.5" barrel, but the supressor on the end is 1.5" and permanently welded to the barrel. Thus, it is 16" long, technically.Haha Ruiner, I'm well over 18.

Eh, yes and no. AR comes from Armalite and not Assault Rifle. The M4 Carbine is a family of firearms tracing its lineage back to earlier carbine M16, all based on the original AR-15 made by ArmaLite. The AR-15 was first made in both auto and semi auto configs. Then, the M-16 came out (about the same exact thing, really). The M4 Carbine is just a shorter AR-15/M-16.
Honestly, there's really not much difference between the guns. They all look the same and most of the parts can be used between them. Most M16s and M4s are full auto/semi/3rnd burst. Most AR-15s are semi auto.

the only versions of the M4 and M16 that come in full auto were the M4A1 and the M16A1, after that they only had semi auto and three round burst.
isnt a Gal 5 just a shorter m16 fully auto? I shot a gal 5 , m-16, and an m4 while we were deployed for hte hell of it, and i like an m16 better than an m4...but hte m4 is quieter
The M16 is an outdated piece of garbage, the only people that get issued those in the military now are the paperwork bitches and other people who never use their guns. It only has one advantage and thats long range accuracy but it would take an expert to notice the difference at anything less than a 300 meter shot.

M16A2...only change was that the full auto was removed and replaced with a 3-round burst selection
M16A3....New picatinny rail mounting system takes the place of the handguards

fuck bushmaster go with the COLT, I have two myself. if it isnt suppressed or full auto you dont need a class 3 arms liscense. you can keep it .223 or go gay and swap out the receiver for one that shoots 9mm. anyway reliable gun and fun to shoot
there is NO "suppressor" on the end of the barrel, its a flash hider. the barrel is 16" long
honestly man do what a friend of mine did. buy the parts separately and put it together yourself....
A) its cheaper
B) no one knows about it
only problem is: obtaining the lower reciever. thats the only part of the weapon you have to have the "license" for
