You can't get the kit now, not directly from the mfg. You have to buy them used. K1 now makes turn key which cost from 60K and up + shipping, etc. from Europe.

If you got your hand on a kit and build it yourself, you'd have to worry about.

    1. Registration. In GA, it's easier since you can register it base on the accord chasis. DMV will get your a VIN number and legalize it for you. However, you'd have to add lots of frame support in order for them to pass it.
    2. Insurance. You'd have to insured as "Stated Value" where they'll come out, get all your paper work and estimate the value of the car. Only a few insurance companies does that. All state does something similar, but the value will depreciate. I forgot the other name of the insurance company, but they're specialized in exotic and custom build car insurances. If you go with them, your car value WILL NOT be depreciate at all. However, their restriction are VERY high, like only 5K miles per year on the vehicle + bunch of other bullshits.
    3. Replacement parts. Since K1 doesn't make these as kit anymore, it's very hard to get replacement part.
    4. Cost. The total cost, excluding labor would end up around 33-35K given you build a super good car: Fully built H22 motor + turbo charge. Reinforced chasis, built drivetrain, race suspension linkage, custom interior, etc.

Have fun and good luck if you decide to go with this project.

yeah i know, i've talk to dick, he was pretty much responsible for having alot of the kits shipped over to the states. there are a few packages still availible, there are also a few here in the states not build yet which are for sale. 1 is still for sale right now at 23k with the h22 mod and a few other things, yeah i know after its all said and done u are lookin at +30k. i been following up with it for a while, since it was just a drawing on paper. the kit started of at 11k for advance order buyers as the original price was around $15,000 when the kit was announced. then it jumped up to 21k which u can still get a few if really interested.
