Less than 3 weeks left in Iraq!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that my one year tour in Iraq will be over in less than 3 weeks. Shit is driving me nuts, time is creeping by just like I knew it would. Dont know how much longer Ill have the internet in my room so if I just stop posting one day its not cause I got whacked, Ill be back in Alaska by the end of the month though. Got so many plans on shit to do......
1. sex
2. food
3. get drunk
4. hit the strip club
5. more sex
6. sleep
7. wake up
8. start at number one again

I signed up for three but I got extended cause of coming over here so it will be about 3 1/2 when I get out
not bad. why is is that when you talk to a recruiter, they never tell you about 3 years? the recruiter i talked to when i went to winder told me i had to sign 6 years and kept telling me BS like that. then i found out bout the 3 year from a friend in reserves

the minimum length of your contract depends on what job you pick in the military, certain jobs require longer and more expensive training so they make you stay in longer.some schools are two years long so it would cost too much to send somebody to school for two years and then they get out of the army a year later, my school was just an extended basic training cause im in the infantry so thats how I got three years, most jobs require 4 though.
I make about 3500 per month which aint much but I get a free house and food and free medical and dental, and my families medical and dental is like 6 bucks per month so it works itself out.bet you gonna get a nice check when you're thru though!!

WERD, Im doing all I can, I only have one more week of missions left and I hope we dont have any contact at all, we had a little scare last week with a bomb hitting one of our trucks and some of the debris from it hit my friend in the neck, luckily it was just a graze so he was fine but another inch to the left and he would be all fucked up, none of us want to get anymore action, we just wanna finish our time.

thanks, its not an everyday thing where we get in some shit though, its a rare thing for us to actuallt see the guys that set of the bombs that blow our trucks up, they hide in buildings and watch us drive by the bombs and set them off with cell phones, and as far as shooting, they do drive bys, there are only crazy firefights when we bust up in a house where they are all chillin.

Iraq aint so bad, they try to make it as comfortable as possible, 2 man rooms and internet in them, great chow hall, nice showers and bathrooms, its really ok.

hey dont relax and get complacent while your still there. but i'ts good that you'r almost done w/ your tour.
Im more cautious now than I have been the entire tour, it would really suck to make it this far and not return home
