409 was all inclusive. as for food, do what everyone else does, get a credit card. lets factor that in. start out with a 500 doller credit limit. which is what i got without a job. lets say you buy clothes for u and your kid. max it out. 500. with 19.8% interest thats a 15 doller a month payment. looks like only 170 to eat on. damn. and to be honest. i lived for 8 months on 609 dollers a month. its possible. i even had money to drink away my sorrows.

Dont believe me? take a drive to your Local RETAIL BUSINESS.. Most of the lower Level employees make under 10 bucks, about 95 % I BET, make under 10 bucks an hr.. and Most are Black/asian/spanish.. You might find a few white people in there, But not many..
I know plenty of white people that rather work at an office making 9.50 an hr with no room for improvement with that company rather then work at a Best buy (w/ room to move up) making 9.50 and be seen by some of her/his friends..

What I was trying to get across that just normal living with out anything bad happening and no one gets sick or your car never breaks and you never have to buy new cloths you can do it. Min wage IMO is designed to help people get started again because if you can hold down a job you will eventually get a rise. In short in a perfect world with no problems it can be done...I am sure it can be done in a non-perfect world, but I havent come across anyone that has done it yet...
There should be a limit of how long you can get gov't aid through welfare to prevent those people who just do enough to keep their job and never get raises...get what I am saying?

i'm an immigrant and we were poor as shit when we first moved here. my parents have always held at least 1 job and even now they're still both working hard (my mom barely makes $10/hr now for god's sake). i myself started working at the age of 15 at my local publix for a whopping $5.50/hr. went on to work many places at under $10/hr all the way through college. shit i worked as a damn valet for average pay even after i graduated college not 2 yrs ago. maybe that's why it pisses me off in a way to see illegals taking some jobs away from those that would actually work a job even if it didn't pay well. but that's in no way saying i condone all the lazy ass motherfuckers who don't want to work for less than wonderful pay.

they should just do away w/ it... i fucking can't stand it that my wife/i are trying to put her through college to become a doctor the gov't says your cost of living + school cost us 35k and they only give us 10k... we then have to take out more loans to cover the rest of school which cost us 22k. now when she finishes school we will have an extra payment = to mortgage payment of around 600 to pay back he school loans. and you don't have a choice they will garnish your wages if you try to skip out on them. but some fucking bitch can keep getting pregnant get a monthly check and free healthcare on my tax dollars. i'm not bitching that we have to pay it back but when we have to go take out extra loans from school the % rates suck b/c gov't loans are the best. there would be more money available if the system wasn't being leeched on in other areas

Dude I understand that one... I have never taken out an unemployement check or welfare check even though I should have many times...and I staying on gov't health for a very short period of time til I could get my own (like 3 months) Then we kept the peachcare stuff for my daughter and used it as a 2nd health insurance...now I have my own health ins, a good job, and can pay for myself and I pay child support.
I like to think that I am a good example of what to do in a bad situation...I am 20 yrs old, divorced once, and father of one. I got alot of help from my parents and my babies's momma's parents, but they could only do so much...I paid for our food and transportation the only thing they paid for for the most part was shelter and a shower...
