I know both of you and I can see the feelings when you are together. Just do like Buddah says and sit him down and talk to him. I have known him longer than I have you but you both are good people.
Totally avoid your best friend.
Try dating your best friend, again.
Talk about it and come to some kind of compromise.
Leave the situation alone and let whatever happens happen.
