In the example you listed, you're right. But to go outside for the sole purpose of pissing off a neighbor for his/her impoliteness is revenge. You coming home from work (or wherever) is just you coming home.

Exactly. Only I usually make sure I'm through doing anything annoyingly noisy by 7 or 8 pm.
