If you go that route and he won't do that willingly, if you go a year without any contact/support from him you can do it without his consent (in GA, may be different where you live). Now if that happens, you won't be able to collect child support but he has zero rights to contact the child... Ever. Well, not without your permission. Also, if you've found Mr. Right he could legally adopt your son and be the Father in every sense of the word.

But if he's not helping you financially at all right now, and I have no idea if he is or isn't. That shit is wrong. The operative word is "help", my ex thought child-support meant also meant ex-wife support...

    Yea no.

I went to Child Services about a week after Brantley was born. 2 weeks later they sent me papers as well as him stating the dates for our court date. Which Is November 2nd and the 16th. I'm not sure how all this works but my lawyer is helping me out significantly. I don't want to be a bitch to the kid... just want him to be in his life.

So, how do you feel the 600 mile separation should be dealt with?

Well, these are things you think about when youre a parent and an adult. If your #1 interest was for your child to have her father in her life, this would have been something you would have considered prior to moving. Not saying you should move in next door or lay out the red carpet.... but moving 600 miles away is something you should have thought about. It seems like you're angry and lashing out without offering a peaceful resolution.
