For me, I don't hate the fact that I have a cell phone most of the time, but I hate my actual phone. It is a Pantech Impact, which is a base model phone that only texts and makes calls (which I wanted), but there are a lot of small complaints that I have that make this phone pretty annoying to use.

1) The phone has a normal face and flips with a full QWERTY keyboard. When you are texting with the keyboard, it has the option for T9 predictive text which is pointless since you have a full keyboard. However, if you are trying to text using just the number pad, there is no T9 so it is a waste of time to use.

2) The face of the phone is some kind of touch pad without raised buttons, but it doesn't recognize when you touch the buttons half the time. For example, it mainly only recognizes that are trying to answer the phone when the touch pad is lit, but when the phone is ringing, the touch pad flashes, so you have to keep tapping the answer button or open the phone to hit an actual button and close it to talk. The same issue occurs when trying to hang up a call, too. It usually ends up with me in a bad mood while I am on the phone because it pissed me off when I was trying to answer.

3) It has a camera, but no flash. WTF were they thinking with that? It might seem like a non-issue, but think about how many times you have relied on your phone to be a temporary flashlight in a pinch for the past 5 years and then lose that luxury when you are "upgrading" to new technology.

4) The location of the camera is idiotic. You have to retrain yourself how to hold the phone when taking a picture because the camera is right where you naturally put your right hand to hold the phone. This normally ends up with you holding the phone in a weird way so that you can take a picture without it being a pitch black shot of your finger.

5) When texting, you can accidentally hit the send button without entering any text, and the phone will send a blank text.

6) It has a Conversations window which is similar to the Iphone's conversation window for texting, but it only shows about a line and a half of the actual text for each person, and they didn't bother with formatting because you can have part of a word on two different lines.

7) The battery cover pops off waaay too easily. Luckily, I have kept track of mine. My friend has the same phone and lost the battery cover within a week of getting it.

There are lots of other smaller peeves I have with the phone, but those are the main ones. My major complaint is that I am stuck with this piece of crap for another year and a half.
