i was driving down I20 in dekalb.. i get pulled over for flicking a cigarrette butt out the window... so then he gives me a ticket for no seat and dark tint... wtf!!!!!! has anyone ever got a ticket for thrown a cigarette out the window? if so, how much?????

Throwing anything out the window and the police see you doing it will get you a ticket usually. Lucky he didnt throw a Litter fee on you... I know its a cigarette butt, but that's still throwing something out the window.

No issues, but honestly, the point in driving is driving while obeying the law. If its called littering when you throw your "consumable item" out onto the ground, and theres a fine for it, and you get caught doing it, then you did something to deserve it. I went the wrong way up a one way because there were no signs to indicate a one way, Im an idiot for not knowing, but ignorance is not an excuse. There are alot of resources to review the law, its changes, and how their enforced, but if you did not know, then thats your fault. Cops are just doing what their paid to do, their jobs

i paid my fines like 2 weeks ago. they were not bad at all. all 3 tickets combined were 275.00 .. but i learned my lesson......wear my seat beats at all times and dont hit a cop with a cigarrette but...

Dekalb county was pretty fair to me lol, i was doing 110 in a 55 in the HOV lane by my self, they barely touched me besides cuffing me and they impounded my car besides the dumb rookie that had to take me to jail that was trying to mack on his cell on the way to jail, every one up there was fairly polite, and then when i went to court the judge dismissed my speeding ticket since the cop also gave me a wreckless driving ticket for speeding it was one in the same so i could keep my license and cut my HOV ticket in half so i could afford to pay all my fines and wouldnt have to go on probation so for the the tickets i paid 700+ 159 to get my car from impound + 200 to get bonded out, my lawyer said my tickets alone would have been 1600+ and a suspended license... and yes i realize all of it was my own dumb ass fault but im sure clayton county would have kicked my ass on the ground lol

umm......i would recommend pulling over first before you attempt to shit out the window. that may be difficult to do while driving and smoking at the same time.

yea man you got really luck on that one... but dekalb police is known for being asshole.... i got three close homeboys that are detectives but they are not street patrols .... i was kinda surprised when they told me fines were only 275 for all three of them.... i thought i was looking at arounf 1500 and a probation violation...

True story...... I was heading home and I was coming up on what I thought was a car with flashing lights. I had to merge over and into the middle lane so I wouldn't miss my exit just off the riverdale rd exit on 285. Well, as I'm passing it, I couldn't help but notice that it wasn't flashing lights but an actual fire due to an asshat like the OP who was too lazy to put his/her cigarette in the ashtray. I called the police and they said that they had someone responding to it already. I hope that they double the fine for you flicking your cigarette out the window. I could care less about the rest of the stuff that they got you for. It's good to know that there's cops out there who actually do there job for a change. Plus 12 for the cops who risk their lives so that the people who give a damn are safe and the ones who don't give a damn, it's just a matter of time.......
