you were driving a un insured vehicle, you get the ticket. the owner doesn't have to insure the car if he isn't driving it. But if you have extended coverage that covers anything you drive, like dealers do, you would be ok..

I didn't know that, I didn't know it wasn't insured, I didn't know it didn't have a tag. You DO NOT have to have a tag to have insurance, my E30 had no tag, insurance, NEVER had a problem with any cops about it. Just "you should get a tag lulz."
