When I ran the Boston marathon, I knew that I'd be running past 500,000 people I'd never see again. I wanted to put something on my shirt that would be, I guess, my one-time advice for complete strangers. Something short and sweet that puts it all together. So the back of my shirt said:

Life is short
Love your friends
Love your family

People wear all kinds of inspirational stuff for marathons, but I had multiple people tell me that it was the best shirt they'd seen all day/ever. An old guy thanked me for reminding him that life was short. Cheesy yes, but true.
