My thoughts:
No Northerner sounds like a Southerner because a "Southern" Accent is a distinct accent that lengthens nouns and creates slang conjunctions such as Ya'll. Northern accents tend to be more of a quicker tone, in a more nasal voice, using more proper english, except in some cases such as the Gangsta crowd.
Being Born in "South Georgia" does NOT make you "Southern". Southern is a way of life, not where you were born. I was born and raised in a county of around 10,000 people. People hunt and fish to put food on the table and the town shuts down on Friday night home games for the football team and Sundays for church. It was front page news when we got a mcdonalds. That my dear is southern.
