I drove by the scene yesterday. The vette was near to the guard rail as pictured. The SUV he hit was a Lexus GX470 that was still in the center lane, it held up pretty well, front driver side of the car was gone though. The windshield or fragments were in the cabin so I guess it's safe to say that the passengers wore their seat belts and didn't fly through. The mustang was gone.. probably didn't stop for the accident but tagged by the witnesses. I saw a shit load of guys standing next to the carnage though (probably friends?) I also saw a red ap1 s2000 ~100 yards in front of the wreck..

totally agree wit u i have a wife and 2 kids and when people put there self in danger and others around them it's just dumb as shit and in the end this is what happens innocent people get hurt or end up dead

ya what dude said was pretty inconsiderate even though all of us here like to drive fast i'm sure. I try not to put anyone in danger when I do. But its pretty hard to move out of the way when 2 cars going 120mph come up one u without any notice........that's just a dumbass comment to make. And most people would rather have the person stay still than move unpredictably (if thats even a word) on the road. Most of the time a good driver is aware of the cars on the road whether he is hauling ass or not. I'm sure a guy on a bike would not want u to try and "move out of the way".....

I had fast cars my whole life thanx to my dad. The age means nothing. I did my stupid shit --- but not in that much traffic. In fact, I didn't do dumb shit like this until I was already an adult. I have done the EXACT same thing as this plenty of times (fuckin around in heavier traffic than I should) so I'm not gonna pretend I'm oh so righteous now like a lot of people in this thread. I could have died like this many times over.

-- dieing doesn't teach the person a lesson, they are dead. It just hurts their families. To teach some1 a lesson ... they should accidentally run a car off the road filled w/ people they love. This way they learn something... altho that isn't fair to their family either. 1 moment of dumbness/poor judgement doesn't mean some1 should pay w/ their life -- if that was the case we'd all already be dead.

QD you're a commercial truck driver who has taken pictures from a moving vehicle that you're in command of on a public road. (so have I) That is poor judgement. Train conductors have derailed trains doing the same thing (i.e. texting, pictures etc). It's along the same lines - being dumb while you're driving. We all have done it. But at that time you/we are thinking "I got it, I'm in control" until something like this happens. Doesn't make it right, but it does make it where I can say I'm not gonna pretend that we all haven't pushed it or exercised poor judgement in public... this guy just payed the ultimate price.

Should the SUV people have to pay? No... I feel for them and their families.

Double post for me but I'm on my iPhone. You are a tool age doesn't apply in this situation, it's maturity and responsibility. I had a G35 at 16, a LS2 Corvette at 18, and a LS3 Corvette at 20 with no problems any where close to this.

But I wasn't traveling at a high speeds trying to outrun someone else. In fact, each picture I have taken have either been at a standstill or at a slow moving pace. I'm not saying I made the best choice, but there is a huge difference in comparing slow-moving picture taking to racing down crowded freeways at high rates of speed. Later, QD.
