    DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Two people were killed in a wreck on Interstate 285 in DeKalb County Tuesday. Police said they were investigating eyewitness reports that at least two of the cars involved in the crash were racing.

    The accident happened on Interstate 285, just south of Lavista Road. Investigators said a Corvette and a Mustang may have been racing when one of the cars collided with a guard rail. The two occupants of the Corvette died in the crash.

    An SUV was also involved in the crash, and two of its passengers were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

    The SUV probably couldn't get out of the way fast enough because its a big old POS. Had they been in a car they would have done better. But wait no, SUVs are safer...

    I was just there on the exit at the same exact time of the crash yesterday....shit was crazy....

    Wondering if they have DOT tape of the crash. It was stupid of them to do such a thing...I wish best of luck to the ones who were in the SUV.

    ATLANTA - DeKalb police are investigating whether street racing is to blame for a wreck that left two people dead on Interstate 285.

    Witnesses said a Corvette and a Mustang appeared to be racing south of LaVista Road when one of the cars slammed into a guardrail around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

    Two people in the Corvette were killed.

    Two others in an SUV were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.

    Police identified the dead as 20-year-old Brandon Phillips, the driver, and 18-year-old Jordan Makanani.

    Authorities have located the driver of the Mustang who they believe witnessed the accident.

    I drove by the scene yesterday. The vette was near to the guard rail as pictured. The SUV he hit was a Lexus GX470 that was still in the center lane, it held up pretty well, front driver side of the car was gone though. The windshield or fragments were in the cabin so I guess it's safe to say that the passengers wore their seat belts and didn't fly through. The mustang was gone.. probably didn't stop for the accident but tagged by the witnesses. I saw a shit load of guys standing next to the carnage though (probably friends?) I also saw a red ap1 s2000 ~100 yards in front of the wreck..

    totally agree wit u i have a wife and 2 kids and when people put there self in danger and others around them it's just dumb as shit and in the end this is what happens innocent people get hurt or end up dead
