We demand way too much too "bling" in our products and no real performance. Take our cell phones as an example - we get the worst cell phones in the world even though we have the best technology! Its because the market will supply what we demand - and we demand BS phones that we want for free - and we'll willing to get stuck in 1-2 year long contracts for it.
Seriously, if these shoes were called "Nike Air Rebound" and they didn't have songs written about them - would anyone buy them?

funny i had this discussion with the guy at Champs yesterday.
I think the LAST pair of Nikes i bought was when i was 13 or 14, i got the ALL RED scottie Pippen SHoes. God damn they were ugly
I usually had some form of the "pump" as i was a basketball player and those were the craze. I had the Shaqs in 8th grade.
But the PIMPEST shoes i ever owned were the Nick Van Exels
But anyways when the Air Jordan 11s came around or whatever, the ones with the patent leather on the bottom(my favorite jordans ever)
I stopped buying Nike and Reebok, those were $150 in 9th grade and my parents said HELL NO.
Eventually when i got out of high school i started buying my own shoes, and i started buying Etnies, now i dont spend more than $60 tops on a pair of shoes, mostly skater brands cause they are wide an comfortable.
The Nike SB line is cool, but ill never buy another pair of Nike again.
