Agreed, you bring up a good point. But I'm only talking about bling products.

We demand way too much too "bling" in our products and no real performance. Take our cell phones as an example - we get the worst cell phones in the world even though we have the best technology! Its because the market will supply what we demand - and we demand BS phones that we want for free - and we'll willing to get stuck in 1-2 year long contracts for it.

Seriously, if these shoes were called "Nike Air Rebound" and they didn't have songs written about them - would anyone buy them?
So we're buying SHOES because of pop culture. No one seems to buy shoes because they're comfortable anymore.
