I had a work accident a while back and ruptured a disc in my back. I had to have surgery and to this day my back still isnt 100%. I went through rehab and am in a lawsuit with the ins. company. They tried to settle and it just was not acceptable and so now I have a P.I. Trying to track me down. I am in no way faking an injury or trying to work while collecting workers comp. pay! I had fucking major back surgery and it didnt fix it 100%percent but I am not sneaking around trying to work nor am i asking for a rediculous amount for a settlement. I just want something to set back incase I have to have another surgery in the future cause those are expensive! Lol. I feel now like I am being harassed! The guy has called my mothers house when I have not lived with her in 15 years and told her he was with ups and that he didnt have my address info....now he is contacting me on facebook and acting like he knows me! WTF???? Has anyone ever had to deal with something like this? Does anyone have any suggestions? I found the guy on Myspace and I now have his phone number ..email addresses and his location ect. What kind of tard private investigator is this guy to not have all his info private. Any one know anything about P.I.s????

As a private detective its not illegal for him to contact anyone in order to get information about the case at hand, but to act like he is with UPS he could go to jail and get federal charges against him and loose his PI license.

I was looking up what can legally be done or not by the PI in a previous discussion w/ Kreep...turns out, its tough to find out exactly what is legit and what is shady.
Either way, the dude stating clerely online that he is a PI sort of negates the whole "private" part IMHO
Also, PI's do not have any more legal rights than your typical citizen, so if he can post up outside your house, then Kreep can post up outside his, same difference.

I've heard of that before. It's cheaper to hire a P.I. to make you look like you are faking it than pay you a settlement.
I am going through legal proceedings as well to get my truck and medical paid for. It's a big joke how insurance companies will stick it to you when the police report clearly states it's his fault.

Following him or parking out in front of his house while he's following you would be funny. I certainly don't see any problem in some harmless fun to show how bad of a PI he is. But anything that starts to mess with his family, I'm going to say is too far. The guy is just doing his job, and while he sucks at it, his family shouldn't be getting harassed. And yes, I know he called your mom to get info on you, but be the bigger man.

I'm not saying that that is what you were planning on doing or anything, just saying.
