Hashino Racing wheels where solely created for low horsepower road racing in Japan and that wouldn't have been successful without the AE86.
No fanboy here, but the reason why the AE86 is unappreciated in America and especially Atlanta, is because there are no "touge" I mean the nimbleness of Corollas with simple suspension upgrades can out handle a lot of vehicles. If we did have free race tracks, or simple curvy roads, where people would race their pretty much stock cars, the AE86 would be a lot more popular, i mean, if people can get props for having a b18 in their civic hatch running 14s in a straight line
then why cant the corolla get props for being nimble around the turns? They are really fun cars.
And just to let you know, a Corolla won Formula D Vegas in 2008 against a 800whp Viper. Rhys Millen, the series champ couldn't keep up with him and took his car into the wall. The potential of these cars are extremely high if you know what you are doing, but most of the haters don't even know how to drive a rear wheel drive in the first place I'm guessing.
And Miata < Corolla simply because the horsepower and wheelbase are pretty much the same, but unless that bitch is hard top, Miata is the gayest thing ever. Not even faded paint, stock wheels, and a roll bar could make a Miata look masculine. Hardtop and low offset wheels are a must before you even start talking down on anyone else's ride.
EDIT: And to the people that say MR2s are better? Are you serious? The MR2 has the SAME motor as the AE86 with like 10 extra horses and the shittiest engine placement ever designed. All they did was take a AE86 shell cut out the back and put a FWD motor in the back LOL. FR ftw. And people bitch about Corollas under steering hahaha. Cute.
Corolla Levin Coupes are the sexiest thing. Trueno Hatches are ugly.
