Ok so I figured everyone is talking about the iPhone.

Its sooooo great, the new 3G version is so much faster. It can do everything, its AWESOME!!!!!

Ya so I figured I would hop on the ban wagon and try one out.

My first impression is ya, this is pretty cool. Its nice and small, and it can do a lot of things...But now that I have had it for two weeks or so I hate this piece of crap.

The first day I had it the battery lasted from 6am until noon. I decided to get online and figure out how to get better battery like so I turned off wi-fi, and I turned the screen brightness down.

Now every time I am in the sun and want to look at the screen I have to put my hand over the screen just to attempt to see anything, but the battery does last all day, unless I do work on it.

Ok so I can live with this dim screen thing. Then later I needed to download a few files, like I use to do on my old tilt. NOPE cant do that.

The iPhone will not allow you to just download files and keep them on your phone and use it as a hard drive.

So there was strike two.

Well then last week I decided I would really test it out. A full day of internet browsing and phone usage was in store because I had a TON of stuff selling on Ebay. got up at 6am like the usual and went to work. By 11am my phones battery was in the red saying 10% battery left...WTF

So I plugged it in and charged it all the way back up. Around 1pm I left work and did a few things around town and then 5pm came around. 10% battery life left. OMFG What the hell. So when I got home threw it back on the charger again.

7pm came around and i left for dinner. and guess what by midnight i was beeping again low battery

This is ridiculous. 3 FULL charges in a single day just because I was using the internet. I am going to Ebay this motherfu**er and get me the new HTC Touch Pro.

Apple I tried you, your product is nice. Its sleek and the battery last a while if you do not use the phone to talk on, surf the internet, or play games....

But until I can get a full day out of a single battery I will NEVER buy another iPhone, unless its to sell again on ebay...

Damn, I was waiting for the Touch Pro. LOLOL!!!!! Damn man, you did exactly what I WOULD have gone through if I went ahead and got the iPhone 3g.

Tilt > iPhone End of story.

HTC Touch Pro > all.

have you upgraded the firmware on it? its supposed to give you better reception and much better battery life.

ps trade you a curve 8310 for it?? 4.5 OS, TONS of 3rd party apps, themes, and what not

i just got the 3g iphone recently. (plus i work at at&t wireless) so ive used a bunch of different phones in the past. the battery isnt the best but i find it reasonable for the ammount of stuff it can do. i mean ANY phone that would run that many different programs is gonna go through the battery pretty quik. i love my iphone. it is the best multi-device cell phone i have ever used. it just so quik and easy with everything. i for one love it. rant over/

The damn thing lags like hell and I only have 4 gig of music on it. The Opera browser is goods, but whenever it starts to lag with multiple pages open it just closes everything down.

On my old tilt I could listen to music on it while surfing the internet with 3 pages open switching between pages and never once would it lag, or close the internet.

Rant still here, iPhone = $$$ on ebay and thats it

Hopefully I can atleast pay for half of the Touch Pro with the iPhone money

I've gone 3 1/2 days of moderate to heavy bursts of use of the wifi and 3G and almost every other feature on my Tilt with the Hyperdragon III rom, before it even got in the bottom 5% of the battery. Then I just dimmed the screen down until I could get to a charger.

I will be honest... I had a Black Jack 1 for 1 year and 9 month.. Longest I ever had a phone for... Does alot, durable and a nice small size.. I gave mines hell.. Internet all day.... 2 to 3 k messages a month... and I had never owned a phone this good...
Some of my closest friends were still shocked I had it . since I used to change phone every 2 to 3 month... My screen was even cracked.. ..
But yesterday, I decided it was time for a new PDA.....

called Julian , he took care of everything for me, and yup.. got a Black Jack 2.... lol
Thats how impressed Ive been with the Samsung's Pda.

Have you tried actually letting it sit on the charger for over night or such?

I burn my up with internet, texting, music etc...and battery life has seen 3 days with no charge, I get at least 2 days before I need a charge.

The first day I had the phone it charged for 24 hours. When I have to charge it durring the day its usually sees 2-3 hours for a complete charge. Then it usually charges over night from midnight until 6am. I have NEVER seen a complete 24 hours out of this battery

yep. I use to use dutty roms all the time...some of the best **** for the phone came from XDA Developers

Oh and the G1, looks alright, but the Touch Pro looks more powerful. Plus the hacking capability of HTC is so nice, everything is easy to manipulate and make better...

i dont have alot of problems with my iphone. yeah it has a few quirks but nothing annoyingly bad. i love the browser, the youtube feature i use all the time. ive had a tilt. the iphone has a much better userface. i hate the tilt.

you hack the tilt? with a new rom the tilt runs more smoothly, has longer battery life, and with the tom tom gps software has better gps functions..

Yeppers. Can't **** with the windows mobile platform when it comes to hackability.

I'm not saying the iPhone isn't a good phone, but thats it. Its just... "OK". The Tilt is ****ing awesome (thats the fanboy in me), and has loads more functionality and uses (thats the facts).

I had bat problems until the recent update. I can go almost two days with 3G and full brightness. Ive had an Iphone from the beginning and had no complaints. I went through almost every phone Cingular offered. Most people hate because they are total ****ing n00bs when it comes to tech.

i have the older one non 3g and i love it never had a problem and i use the internet on it 10 hours a day sometimes.

I did hear the 3g ate battery power pretty fast

I've got a voyager and I think that it is even worse than the iPhone. I have recallibrated screen 100 times and still half the time i hit one button it precieves another.

I literally got an Iphone because my old phone got water damage and I got it free from a family member. Great phone. Best phone I've ever had and I've had black berries and the such. No phone is more user friendly. No problem with battery life. The thing has literally made me even more organized and on task with work and it's just great fun to use when your board or need to look up something. The Wi-Fi isn't the fastest but it works great. You can tell someone who is not fond of windows and its over "complicatedness" created this phone and I am a P.C owner.. I'd recommend this phone anyone.
I use to say phuck the trend but now I just think anyone is an idiot for not recommending this phone. I'm sorry you must of gotten a "bad" one. My friend got one that couldn't hold a charge and another other one that had screen problems but all were replaced for free.

its not that the battery is bad. I went to Apple and they said with 3G i would see between 6-8 hours of use...and thats what I am seeing....and its ridiculous...phone is on ebay right now, going to get a tilt and run Android on it and check it out..Then looking to get a HTC Dream aka G1 Android at the end of the month to try this new thing out...Then Christmas the Touch Pro...

Ive had my 3g for an entire month now. It has been nothing but great to me. My brightness is down and I can always still see the screen. Batter will last me a few days with texting, calling, APPs, etc... Maybe you have a defect.

I've used the iPhone quite a bit the past couple days because my buddy got one last week. Overall, I love it. I have the HTC Hermes and would give it up for a 3G iPhone in a heartbeat. Some have complained about the battery life of the iPhone....I put money on it that my battery life in my Hermes is worse than anyone's phone. I took it off the charger @ 7am, got into a car accident @ 7:40, Made a total of about 10 phone calls totaling around 1hr of phone time and my battery was down to 20% by about 9am. I have a charger at home, in my car and at work, and I still have problems with it dieing on me...

Nah, I'm just not an Apple fan. I had an iPod Video and it literally exploded on me. I also had an Apple desktop once and hated it. I'll admit that they're machine's are very sleek and attractive, but behind that pretty face is nothing but crap. Sorry, but no thanks.

i agree that the Apple nuthuggers are annoying. i will never have an apple desktop/pc. i actually used to badmouth the iphone...til i bought mine. i bought it for the internet browser...wich is awesome. but everything else on the phone is great too.

you must have gotten a bad one because my battery will last 2 days using wifi and 3G internet. If you take it back to Apple they will hand you a new one, no questions asked.

my girlfriend got the Voyager this weekend and I played around with it, the touch screen does not compare with the iphone. I was trying to type and it never would hit the letter i was touching. The browser is also slow, I cant believe they didn't put Wifi on it.
