lol I was just talking about this last night with Glides (had the ultra sexy green ae86), they (s3) told him they would not feature his car because his engine bay wasn't clean enough, but yet they can COVER a car like this? I don't get it........

We can see junk like that at any varsity meet or on your local stretch of road and we can probably "guess" as to what mods it already has.

If you dont buy mags any more because "you cant afford this but you can stare" mentality, you have some personal issues.

Honestly, if it wasnt for car mags showcasing bad ass rides, I wouldnt have gone through as many stages Ive gone through with all my cars. Personally, mags featuring turds doesnt send the right message either. Might as well include a copy of F&F with every subscription. Or maybe, "A day without a Mexican".

if it isnt then show me a cover feature in the real grassroots magazine, grassroots motorsports, that features a car of that caliber and then we'll talk....theres nothing grassroots about this car, its a terd, plain and simple.

now what do i want to see out of a magazine? like nemesis says, why cant there be more domestics? crazy swaps? anything but jdm civcs....there are killer cars just in the atlanta area that apparently are skipped over in favor of vehicles like this. i will say though that a car doesnt have to have flawless paint and be of the norm to be featured...im all for different stuff, but this car and that article plain out sucked.

I lirl'd at the porn mag comment. But honestly that is why I don't buy mags anymore, it just makes me mad that I can't have those cars lol. And most mags are weak sauce now anyway, all the ****in cars are the damn same and the tech articles suck. There's no variety anymore. The only one I ever buy now is Grassroots, best car mag out there right now.

I was talking to someone with S3 earlier in the year about doing a shoot for the magazine. My car was under the knife then so it never happened.

as far as car mags go I have reverted back to the old days of, C&D,R&T, and good old Dupont Registry.

nope they don't sponsor us and we don't sponsor them... guys at S3 are friends of mine and i like what they do. grassroots mag local to Atlanta you need to support. like it or not we need local companies like this

like julio said "they are keeping it real"... honestly the feature to was spark sh!t - i know they have a lot of VW readers and the car which is not really my taste i think its kinda refreshing/funny all at the same time. 95% of the import magazines have either civic, 240, 350z, skyline, rx7, supra, etc on cover... um what is new and exciting about a any of those? nothing.

i think domestics should be on more "import" mags but there are very few worth mentioning on a cover... most dometics are GO not SHOW so they are nothing to look at... that doesn't sell magazines or ad's.

Yeah magazine tech articles really, really suck nowadays. They are basically written by the sponsors to plug products. They won't tell you that you can get upgrade parts from the junkyard, they will show you a new Brand X part that does the same thing as the junkyard part but costs 10x more because its made from shiny billet aluminum.

But the VW crowd eats stuff like that "rat stylz emm-kay 3" up to the point that there are "how do I get my hood to rust faster?" posts on the VW Vortex every day. No worse than the flat black hoods the Honda kids are doing IMO. I just know that in 20 years it will be hard to find and late '80's - 2000's import cars that haven't been buggered with in some way.

How do I get my Silvia hood to rust faster??? Since it's technically not a 240 part, it rusts slower than the rest of the car...
