    BP didn't get bought out. BP bought Amoco years ago, now BP is pulling out of the retail industry and selling to jobbers to shed the liablity issues associated with having a station and the underground fuel tank has a leak, resulting in paying for an enviromental clean-up. I heard they were changing the branding of the staions, but last I heard it was going to AM/PM like out west, which BP also owns.

    Edit:FYI, I'm not saying I'm right, that was just the last plan I heard.

    You pretty much hit it right on the nose. We're changing some (alot) of stations to AM/PM which is their west coast brand. Its not as much of a liability issue as it is BP getting into bigger and better things. BP will never be "bought out". It is the parent company

    The BP over by Mainstream has been owned by AMOCO for years, but it still says BP on it outside.

    It stands for Beyond Petroleum. And that BP that you're talking about was an Amoco. It still says Amoco fuels on the outside because thats the company thats refining the gas
