You don't go to your precinct. You go to the license department in the courthouse of the county you live in. There you apply for the license. They then send you to the county Sheriff's office to get the fingerprinting done. You take that back to the license office and they send it all off for the background checks. It takes different counties different amount of time. In Rockdale, it took only 5 weeks to get mine back. I hear Gwinnett has the best turn around with about 2-3 weeks.Originally Posted by Blitanicle99
