Is it still such a big deal? I mean damn. I think people need to really get over the whole "Stick with your kind" deal. This isn't the olden' days anymore. I went out last night, something that I rarely do, only to hear and see dirty looks from at least 4 or 5 different people there. In the area that I was sitting, there was another interracial couple and the entire night, these ignorant females were making comments about how wrong it is, how we are sell-outs, etc. To me love has no color. Why is it that people still have a problem with this shit man. I've dated a lot of different races and it seems like black and white were the only time that i ever encountered discrimination or ingorance. Who here dates interracially or is in a interracial relationship? Are y'all having any issues with society or ignorant people?

I have dated interracially and I am currently. People still do that because that is how they were raised. They believe something shouldn't mix, personally, I think like you, love has no color. You get more of this the farther south you go. It is not as bad up North where diversity is more welcomed.

If you were raised in a prejudice family, sometimes that can actually increase your chances of dating 'outside" of your race - do to social effects.


A major factor that plays a role is- how exposed you are to other races. The deeper the relationship with another race of people the more likely you are to accept it.


I'm not talking about a work relationship either - a true friendship can easily change your perspective on a lot of things.


You can easily do yourself a disservice by limiting yourself to one race but of course, i have to say - go with whatever makes you happy.

I meant that in a matter of how you were raised and learned not only from your parents, but others and your surrounding that cause some people just to think and act that way.

I was raised in much the same way, i was told not to bring a white girl home. My family were very racist against whites. I grew up in the projects so the only white people we saw were police or social workers. I got older and moved to the suburbs when i was like 15 and everything changed. Sadly though...i've never dated a black woman.

I have dated everything under the sun b/c I dont discriminate but the other day at Walmart I was so hurt by the glares that I received when I was with my baby (he is black). I noticed that Latino men stare and the black women grimace...I dont get it. I am so not the type to care but I cried b/c I couldnt understand their stupidity. I am so happy right now and I wish I could infect them with my happiness but whatever. Like I said before I dont attribute it to ignorance, because that would imply that they dont know what they are doing. They are just stupid.

There is an answer to that - it's a combination of insecurity combined with inquisition.

Some people simply want to see and evaluate what there are witnessing since it's a little 'out of the norm.' Some admire it while others disprove of it. For the people that disprove; it's because of there lack of understanding. Due to ignorance, some people get offended because: for some reason, it causes them to question themselves - as if they had a chance with you and you turned them down for someone of another race?????

For example if [insert white actress name here] decided to date some random guy of another race some people would be hurt. - look idiot why do you care she wouldn't have dated you anyway, it's her preference. If she dated a white guy it still wouldn't benefit you in any way shape or form.

It's just really hard for humans to get through ignorant states - you constantly have to check yourself.

People are always out for "piece of mind" and some people get that when people stick with there own.
