Default Worth it or no? (Garage)

So I moved to a nicer apartment complex, and now I have the option to rent my own personal garage. Its really spacious and is motorized. I currently pay 990 a month for rent, and the garage will be an additional 125 a month. I really like to keep my car in a covered spot all the time for security. Anyways, do you think its worth the 125 a month? Plus it would give me a place to work on my car if I need to.

yea and no...yea because you have some place with added security and your car can't be eyed out as easily unless someone in your apartment complex eyes your car and knows where you park. you also have the protection from outside elements at times and like you said somewhere to work on your car...

no because paying 1100+ on rent IMO is kind of crazy when you could have a mortgage for the about the same maybe a little more or less with a garage and something to call your own. i think i would just get a car cover and call it a day..IMO

The only reason why I havent gone with a condo/house yet, is just because the company I work for is planning on moving their offices out of the Buckhead area, and into a different area. The move is planned for January and they will be announcing the new location around then im sure. So im holding out on any major plans until then. 1100 is a lot though, you are right. But I love only commutting 10 minutes to work.

I had thought about the car cover, but they are a PITA. The security thing is the biggest factor with me now though.

if you are worried about security, then get the garage, but i have now come to the point in my life where it's like if they steal or break into it, full coverage insurance will pay for it. i pay so much on insurance that it's time for them to do their job, even though if i'm hurt, cash out for it will be ok for me...my next move, i really hope, is the purchase of a house. I'M SICK OF THROWING AWAY MONEY

I would, 125 x 12 months= 1500. Car getting broken into or stolen will cost a lot more in insurance deductables, time and hassle.

id say if you can afford it run with it, theres nothing like being able to lock your car up at night and know someone wont mess with it, i love my garage, we didnt have one at our old house, and now i dont worry about the car at night at all, i dont think a GTO is worth someone being heard tearing the door down to be honest so i dont worry about the car one bit

Garage. A car cover doesn't do shit for elements and trees and stuff. When I had my Camaro parked outside under the cover it would still look like ass because water would get underneath it and the treesap would still get through the cover. Cover FTL.

The garage is like storing it inside your home. The car stays clean longer and its better protected.

pay the extra bit for the garage, it'll be better for it and less likely to be broken into/stolen

Get the garage. Start a show called "Pimp my Garage". Make a little on the side.

I mean, it really depends on the garage....most garage's that apts have are pretty small....I mean there are some exceptions to the rule, but the size would help determine

id get it for sure. weather beats on your car so keeping it inside will save it that way. plus its safe from thieves and just ppl in general. door dings and random ass shit always happens. if i could use a garage, i would.

You had a shitty car cover, then. I use one and it keeps my car clean. No water or bullshit gets under/through it. Of course I'd rather park in a garage though.

Anyways, I'd definitely pay the extra $ for the garage. It'll be easier to work on your car and like you said, you'll have a better sense of security for it.

Will they even let you rent the garage for those few months or do they make you sign a contract?

a modded car should stay garaged. otherwise you'll just be waiting for that right window shopper to stop by and take his 5 finger discount
