For the sake of an intelligent discussion on IA, I hope this was a gross generalization and meant to be aimed more specifically at the the dude who posted the comment about Vick.

Sorry to be the one to ruin your "American Dream" but, racism is alive and thriving in 2007 just as it was in the 1920's. Of course some people use race as an out but, just because the date has changed doesn't mean that the times have as well. The flip side to some blacks always using the "race card" is some whites always thinking that racism no longer exists and when race is suggested as a factor, they immediately assume the "race card" is being played.

Ah, the sweet blissful ignorance! I know not of your personal experiences but, my experiences has afforded me to over hear; "The blacks get away with ________", "The Mexicans are taking all of our jobs", "I'm the new minority that's why I can't get _______", etc...

As far as Kayne West & Mike Myers situation, I really don't see how that is, in any way, related to my comment. A lot of people felt the slow government response to Katria was prompted by race, whites included. Kanye speaking his mind on that situation has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything stated in my post

In no way, shape, or form did he blame Bush for a "natural disaster". He was commenting on the LACK OF FEDERAL ASSISTANCE!!! He blamed Bush for not sending help due to Bush "not caring about black people"! I'm no Kaye advocate but, you didn't have to be a card carrying member of his fan club to hear to what he said.

So, is it the "race card" only if a black person says something negative has happened or is the direct result of a white person's actions? I'm just curious because, that seems to be what's being said here. Had he said "Bush doesn't like poor people" would that have meant he was pulling the "income card"? Bottom line, Kaye said what Kaye felt, just as he always does. Period.
