For sure. Same in the MX world as on the streets. usually C class (beginner riders) who tried to ride like they're in the A class (pro riders). I watched a video of the fastest C riders, and then a video of myself in the pro class and it disgusted me just how out of control the C riders were.

A squid is an irresponsible motorcyclist. The term is derogatory and common among motorcyclists in North America and is generally associated with a new or reckless motorcyclist seen riding erratically and/or beyond his or her capabilities, often without appropriate riding gear.

I gather that from the context, but why did they choose the word 'squid' over 'dumbass' or 'octopus' or 'potatoman' or whatever?

yeah just read that. BUT, usually acronym's are denoted with a period between each letter, as a way of letting the reader know that they are acronym's.

    ex:

S.W.E.D = smoke weed every day

I kinda like what the other guy said; a squid is someone like that because they look like a dead squid tossed on the ground once they crash.....!

Do you see S.C.U.B.A spelled like this everytime? Is it s.c.u.b.a. diving or scuba diving?

IBM? HTML or CD's? KFC, BP, DVD? USB, SAT, ATM...

BUT [not an acronym, just capitalized for effect ] an acronym doesn't always have to be capitalized...what about laser? (light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) or how Nato is spelled in some countries then Interpol is another one.

Like scuba diving (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) what about base jumping? (sometimes capitalized and sometimes not: Building, Aeriel, Span, & Earth)

SQUID Swimming Queers United in Denver
SQUID Software Quality in the Development Process
SQUID Super Quick Until I Die (motorcycling slang)
SQUID Standard Quick-release Universal Interface Device

Damn I just saw this. Reminds me slightly of the girl back in October with the Porche.

Like someone else said kind of scares me to get on a bike. But I see people on 85 or 285 riding without gear sometimes and I just think to myself...you're asking for trouble!!!

i can say that too, i've seen just about every imagineable scenario from either real life or GoreGallery back in the day but as soon as you get on the bike that fear and feeling goes away...it comes back a lil after someone fucktard in a car just about ruins your day but it goes away again.

There's a reason I think everyone should have X amount of time on a motorcycle and i'd rather see it before they ever step foot in a car...but apparently i'm crazy like that, especially since I think in order to get your drivers license you should take a series of classes, i.e. X amount of time on a skid pad, completely ability to use mirrors, etc. before you can get your license...but that's just me.

Of course none of that will probably help against someone pissed off over a spouse, oh well.

My parentals wouldn't let me have one either or even a dirt bike and we had over 100 acres plus the miles and miles of nearby forest service roads and trails! I always had to resort to riding friends bikes then 3 months after I moved out bought a Triumph Daytona 955i...lets just say they weren't exactly the most thrilled about it.

I honestly think it would be alot safer with parents supporting it, similiar to guns...you should be taught how to properly handle them -- way too many accidents are from people that just don't have a clue or even the respect. If you have to do something behind your parents back or without their support then more than likely there will be no training involved nor the extra money for proper gear...
