I think its just a cycle.. IA always gets boring toward the summer. A lot of people tune out cause they're not at the computer as much, traveling, and just getting out a lot more.

buy a 3SGTE... swap the motor.. upgrade stock turbo for something a bit bigger.. something in the range of a GT28-3071, necessary bolt ons. beef up your transmission.. or swap one into that thing.. and you have yourself a pretty cool FWD car.

On a different car forum I visit, they separated the off topic non racing stuff from the car forums and made two different websites. It helped a whoooole lot. No stupid BS to sift through if you want to see car stuff or get info, and a convenient other forum with all the BS you could want.

Here is the thing for me... when I got on here I hit it hard. I was loving the relationship/sex threads - those are 2 things in life that I really have figured out to the T. Me, Brett, Leisa, Jocelyn, Ahmorah and a few others would have REAL conversation about some things in life that will matter long after your car gets slow or the paint fades. Then I'd hit the N/A lounge and learn from VTECKID, 99Si, and a few others. I'm a 2nd degree in JKD so a few of the older martial arts threads were the lick too. Even the CLASSIC fake drama threads (not the weak ones) were a good laugh. There was a time when there was only about 5 REAL assholes, and that was the perfect balance. For some reason those worked, and we came to accept and even look forward to it when the real personalities didn't post for a while.Then you had the few that saw that "formula" to be a dick, and tried to replicate and it you could tell it was fake. Now there are way too many wannabe assholes.

I haven't been on here as long as a lot of people. But I do remem some good shit. I think we are all getting older and wiser - and that's all good. Just today I looked at my cars and was like "why" - is it time to move on? Is it time to get a big Lexus w/ wheels and nitrous and call it a day? And not just "thinking" about it like most do - I mean REALLY posting that "getting outta the game" thread for REAL and moving on w/ other things in life. I am a weird one like that b/c I AM a true enthusiast, but I also get satisfaction by watching from a distance. I can always say "I did it."

When I was teen, I learned things from guys on forums... and I am almost dissappointed b/c the older generation of enthusiasts are not really passing shit down to the kids... at least not the RIGHT shit. In a sense we are forgetting how it felt to be green - "search for it" - SHIT, there is so much wrong shit on the web we are literally fucking them over.

I mean - take QD and a lot of others... I have never met face to face. If I walked by him though, I'd "know" him instantly though... that kinda shit is priceless. Even Val - never met her, but interacted on the boards and it did hit me when I got that news. I know that one prob that will grow to bite this forum that I am learning here in Indiana is the kills forum. We do have some straight underground sites here in Indy/Chicago/Cincinatti. www.indyhp.com (hp = horesepower) - I got here, beat some people w/ my N/A build and STILL took over a month to get "vouched for" to be a member on the site. That shit is way too open. Should be invite only, and not every1 w/ a laptop and a IA login. Chi scene is almost ALL underground, as well as Cincinatti (don't sleep - Cincy is on the map... you'd never guess). The www.fortyroll.com site is actually hidden behind a less obvious domain - CRAZY shit.

I've been here for a good bit too. I mostly lurk (look at my post count lol), but I've noticed alot of new members have joined and the meets are getting bigger and bigger. It's kind of a double edged sword since IA.com has grown into mass proportion, so you can't really expect the same out of it anymore. I used to go on here about car questions, but now it's turned into more of those websites where you turn to when you're bored (i.e. youtube, kontraband, etc.). I frequent v6performance.net and honda-tech.net now for all my car tech needs, but IA.com has always been fun though. Sure, the varsity meets are getting lamer and lamer, but who knows... Maybe one day IA will grow bigger and we will be able to host sponsored events with kind donations.
