Here is the thing for me... when I got on here I hit it hard. I was loving the relationship/sex threads - those are 2 things in life that I really have figured out to the T. Me, Brett, Leisa, Jocelyn, Ahmorah and a few others would have REAL conversation about some things in life that will matter long after your car gets slow or the paint fades. Then I'd hit the N/A lounge and learn from VTECKID, 99Si, and a few others. I'm a 2nd degree in JKD so a few of the older martial arts threads were the lick too. Even the CLASSIC fake drama threads (not the weak ones) were a good laugh. There was a time when there was only about 5 REAL assholes, and that was the perfect balance. For some reason those worked, and we came to accept and even look forward to it when the real personalities didn't post for a while.Then you had the few that saw that "formula" to be a dick, and tried to replicate and it you could tell it was fake. Now there are way too many wannabe assholes.
I haven't been on here as long as a lot of people. But I do remem some good shit. I think we are all getting older and wiser - and that's all good. Just today I looked at my cars and was like "why" - is it time to move on? Is it time to get a big Lexus w/ wheels and nitrous and call it a day? And not just "thinking" about it like most do - I mean REALLY posting that "getting outta the game" thread for REAL and moving on w/ other things in life. I am a weird one like that b/c I AM a true enthusiast, but I also get satisfaction by watching from a distance. I can always say "I did it."
When I was teen, I learned things from guys on forums... and I am almost dissappointed b/c the older generation of enthusiasts are not really passing shit down to the kids... at least not the RIGHT shit. In a sense we are forgetting how it felt to be green - "search for it" - SHIT, there is so much wrong shit on the web we are literally fucking them over.
I think you are on to something Ma... even though I can't say exactly what it is.
