Anyway...at $3.00 a gallon, it's still below $40.00 to get about ~450 miles on the tank for the Diesel Dub. I can get up to 600+ if I really try.
I'm tellin' you guys, diesel is an excellent option. It's roughly $1,000 extra compared to the gasoline counterpart, and that can break even with fuel savings in about 30,000 miles. That's how it works out for a Mercedes Benz E320 CDI anyway. Now imagine a car that gets even better mileage...say the Volkswagen. Problem is, there's such a limited choice among diesel cars here. Over in Europe, damn near everything has a diesel version.
No worries about not finding diesel stations...your extended range would make up for that.
