Why is that? Have you actually used it for more than 5 minutes to make a fair assumption? I've been running it for a couple of weeks now, 0 problems. Works as fast if not faster than XP, sure it uses more memory but I have 2 gigs anyway, so I don't really notice. A lot of people that downtalk Vista, I've noticed, haven't really used it.Originally Posted by JennB
I've played around with it a little. I'm happy with XP, no reason to change right now. And I'm a patient person, an OS is not something I feel I need to have immediately. Once the bugs I've heard about have been ironed out and it's been out for a while, I may get it on my home computer. My work computer is #1, not my decision and #2, has far too much important company information to mess around with. Not that it wouldn't be secure, but if it did have a bug, being down or having problems would make a big mess for us. Seeing as we are a software company, I'm sure we'll get it sooner or later when IT thinks it's ready.

why would mac only be good at surfing the net...
mac has the best media editing software out there come on now... garage band is one sick music editing program that comes with it.
plus you can create another partition and put windows on it if they have games or software you want to run that mac does not support.
mac is a way more powerful system and doesn't have big brother watching your every move like microsoft.

just use linux
I would either go with an Apple PowerBook or Dell. The new rugged Dell's (Latitude ATG) are the shit.

Last time i checked you couldn't install a version of Windows on a Mac computer. The processor's infrastructure is a bit different.Originally Posted by Lucky SC

where'd ur dad get the refurbed dell from?
I got a bunch of Dell, IBM, Compaq desktops all under the price range of $350 and they are from P3 900mhz all the way up to P4 2.8's. All different configurations. Can be custom made, parts added whatever you want.
Of course price will change accordingly.

^^^still tossing around options, will let u know though, thnx.
might go w/a dell refurb, seeing some great prices...
just gimme the money i refurb u a p2
Its not the system, its the user. Ive had emachines and they are the only ones that suck. Custom built: BEST, Good computers are: HP, Sony, Dell, Mac. Not recommended: Emachines, Compaqs.
Trust me, i fix computers![]()
