It seems as if he wants to be a republican because republicans have been historically linked to the increase in equality of African Americans. As true as that is, the Republican Party today is not what it was 60 years ago. He also attempts to link his version of modern American liberalism with the Democratic Party. And as for his last misjudgment, Dr. King was never ever linked with any political party. He may share some of the same principles or ideals, but he was never a republican. That is a false analogy.
So you are saying that Dems arent the party of liberals? When did that happen?

BTW, about half of all Americans that associate with a party have no clue what the party they associate with is about. A black man that votes dem usually does it because he always has, just like his family and friends. He has no clue what the party or candidate he is voting for is all about. He is voting for the guy with the D next to his name.

Want to really turn politics on its head, remove the party affiliation and incumbency status from the ballot. 95% of voters wold either skip that vote and move to a different one or will blindly guess. I would even hazard a guess that half the people that post in this forum would fail a quiz asking the name their House Rep, both Senators and the first 4 people in line for the presidency. I wont even get into the state legislature.
