As I delve more and more into this political theater, I'm thinking to myself "what in the hell is mentally wrong with these candidates?" We have over 350 MILLION people in the United States, and these four individuals, for whatever reason, represent the best and brightest conservative minds in the country.

Rick Santorums stance on birth control and gay marriage is downright dangerous and insane, and there are people who wholeheartedly agree with this man and fully believe this man should represent the United States! Santorum recently spoke at the First Baptist Church in Naples. He said, and I quote "The Left uses universities to indoctrinate young people for the purpose of maintaining power" and that they teach "radical secular ideologies". I do not have enough face to palm right now. First of all, Rick, THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS RADICAL SECULARISM. There's black and white, there's no "NEON GRAY". Second, yes Rick, smart people with educations tend to be more left. Sorry boss, that's how the cookies have fallen. We're still trying to figure out where we went wrong with you, seeing as you went to TWO universities(maybe they cancel each other out, I dunno) So if getting an education means I have to be part of the left, then so be it. Newt Gingrich actually thinks our president actually wants to wage war on religion, he believes someone who does not believe in a biblical god does not deserve a position of authority, and this is his platform! Not only that, he thinks he is the lone warrior who will singlehandedly drop gas prices down to $2. Stop it Newt. We're not stupid (of course, someone is because he is actually on the polls, so I suppose I can't speak for everyone).

Mitt Romney. He's doing pretty good a at pulling the wool over his own campaign, maybe since he's such a flip-flopper. Sorry Mitt, America has enough problems, we don't need a corporate tycoon running the US like a business, making poor people poorer and rich people even richer. He exemplifies whats wrong with America.

It seems as if the GOP fails to realize that they're up against a brilliant individual, a constitutional scholar. Which brings me to Ron Paul. The only other person in politics, it seems, who also has read the constitution. Here is a man who actually has his head on half straight, and his party is lambasting him. He seems like he's the only one right now who recognizes some of the problems this political system and this country, and the GOP is scared shitless. But alas; he leaves god, gays, abortion out of the debate, and is the only one who doesnt want to needlessly and wantonly blow other countries out of the water, which, in turn, slides him down to the single digits in the polls for another election season. Good job, GOP followers. The only one who has a shot in hell at winning a debate against President Obama, and he's not even in line to get an honorable mention.

So Conservatives, in order to reclaim your standing in the theater as a competent club of individuals, get the fuck off the pulpit. Gays are gay, they are also people who also deserve human and constitutional rights, you will NEVER win your abortion fight in a MILLION years as long as there is women around, creationism IS NOT science, and the United States is NOT "Team America:World Police", they are fictional characters in a fictional movie made by the creators of South Park, and were not intended for you to take seriously.

I think the GOP is very much at a critical juncture. The religious base is trying to pull their focus towards social issues when they should be focusing on fiscal responsibility and effective government (not non-existant government). This internal tug of war is causing the "moderate republican" to be a dying if not already extinct breed. There are some very important trends going on that they need to accept.

- The fastest growing ethnic group is latino
- The fastest growing religious group is non-religious
- Support for gay rights is growing every year
- A majority of the country supports abortion in certain circumstances
- The elderly are increasingly relying on social security and medicare

Romney is actually quite moderate if you look at his record in Mass but because he has to pretend to be super conservative in order to make it out of the primaries. Basically, there is no way to win the republican primaries without severely hurting your chances in the general election.

I think that's pretty spot on. I wonder if we may begin seeing the Libertarian base grow more over the next couple of election cycles after 2012. It seems to me that more and more people are fed up with the current establishment.

I could LIVE with Romney being president only because he would repeal obamacare and probably do something related to taxes to get the economy going again.

Santorum i would be really scared because he is a religious nutbag.

RP is far too isolationist, and i find it funny blank would even like him considering RP would decimate all his little social programs he likes. RP stance on cutting 1+ trillion from the budget would throw the poor to the wolves.

Newt has the best ideas, but hes too undisciplined. He has far too many crazy ideas as really good ideas. if he could just stick to simple things he would be much better.

The Liberals are in just as much trouble though make no mistake about it. They have the OCCUPY retards to deal with (not the ones that are against bailouts but the vast majority of the movement that is about total anarchy and handouts), they have plummeting job growth and GDP , rising gas prices, host of problems to deal with. Obama isnt serious about doing anything to fix anything wrong unless it means a massive govt spending program.

Anyone that views the Constitution as a "series of negative liberties" is not a true scholar of it. He may know it, the same way you study your enemy before battle... But he doesn't believe it. Which is why he's building a framework to get around it.

This is laughable. Obama cares nothing for the Constitution or the law. He cares about power. He is brilliant though. He managed to win an election with nothing more substantial than "hope and change".

Which brings me to Ron Paul. The only other person in politics, it seems, who also has read the constitution. Here is a man who actually has his head on half straight, and his party is lambasting him.

Paul is a very dangerous isolationist. With him as president, The Middle East would be far more volatile than it is now. SW Asia would be a powder keg without US troops keeping China and North Korea at bay.

Where Isaac is absolutely wrong is the nation that we live in a democracy. A true democracy is nothing more than mob rule. It is nearly anarchist in that the rule of law is subordinate to the will of the many.

If Obama care DOESNT lose in the Supreme Court, there is no product that American citizens cannot be forced to buy. You can be REQUIRED to purchase a new car every 5 years because of the thousands of jobs that depend on it. You can be REQUIRED to buy a cell phone every year because of the jobs it creates.

Anyone that wants Obamacare to be declared Constitutional in its current form WANTS the govt to be able to dictate what products you MUST own as a consequence of being an American.

I'm traditionally more conservative, but I couldn't agree more. It's absolutely laughable that Romney, Newt, and that other cock sucker are the best they can come up with. I find it pretty insulting honestly. Obama is going to crush whoever gets the nomination.
